NABPT Awards APTQI-Funded Scholarship to Pediatric Physical Therapist
APTQI recently supported a $10,000 National Association of Black Physical Therapists, Inc. (NABPT) scholarship that aids physical therapists with student loan repayment. NABPT announced that they awarded Dr. Shanette Johnson Arredondo the scholarship during their inaugural conference, held on Juneteenth weekend. She has agreed to serve as a mentor in the NABPT Each One Teach One program for two years and serve as a mentor in her area of expertise in their Emerging Leadership Program for one month.
“I am so excited to be a part of this organization and will forever be grateful to NABPT for this scholarship,” Johnson Arredondo said.
Dr. Johnson Arredondo is a Los Angeles-based pediatric physical therapist. She received her DPT from the University of Southern California and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California-Riverside. She also serves on the board of the Southern California Chapter of the NABPT. She has a passion for working with children and their families and enjoys being a clinical instructor for DPT students interested in pediatrics.
APTQI commends the contributions of Johnson Arredondo to the physical therapy community and congratulates her on being a worthy recipient of this scholarship.
